Botanical Birthday

Last year my goal was to make and send birthday cards birthday cards to all my family members. I was almost completely successful. . . almost. This year, although there are even more family members, I have the same goal. Of course, the plan is to be 100% successful this year!

Here is the start!

Ink - VersaMark
Card Stock - Cajun Craze, Whisper White
DSP - Botanical Gardens (140583)

Swirly Christmas Wreath

I'm finally getting to my Christmas cards! I seem to do this every year. . . wait until the last minute to create the cards. To make the building of the card a bit easier, I ran the card stock through my Xyron prior to running them through my Big Shot. This process (when I remember to do it) makes it a LOT easier to adhere small or thin pieces.

Supplies:
Card Stock - Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Accessories - Pine Bough Embossing Folder (141831), Pretty Pines Thinlits (141851), Rhinestone, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits (141497)

Just Boots

I wanted to make another, somewhat, masculine card using Country Livin', but didn't want to use the truck. After looking at my embossing folders, this is what I came up with. I do like the boots, but my favorite part is the stamped trees behind the embossed trees.

If you haven't already tried it, this is a super-easy technique. Just stamp your image directly onto the embossing folder, then add your card stock and run it through your Big Shot!

Supplies:
Stamps - Country Livin' (141925), Lovely as a Tree (128655)
Ink - Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Card Stock - Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Accessories - Burlap Ribbon (132140), Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139673)

Sitting Here In The Meadow

Has your summer been as crazy and busy as mine? Even when I've had the time to create, by the time the project was complete, I would forget to take a picture. Either the card was mailed, or the project delivered.

Any way, this is the first of two cards I have recently made. I mailed the second one before I took the required picture.

Supplies:
Stamps - In the Meadow (140754), Sitting Here (141589)
Ink -Bermuda Bay, Black StazOn, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi
Card Stock - Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Accessories - Rhinestone
Techniques - a little bit of fussy cutting

Jar of Flowers

Summer has hit me hard -- in a good way. I have been so busy working during the week, and we have been playing on the weekends, I haven't had much time to spend playing with my stamps. Yes, summer is still here, but we don't have any travel plans until the end of the month! That means I more time to play with my stamps.

This is the first opportunity to stamp and the first card I've made in over a month. Ahhh, it's nice to have some time to relax and play.

Supplies:
Stamps - Jar of Love (141587)
Ink - Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Crumb cake, Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, So Saffron, Soft Sky

Blissful Dragonfly

Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I have an opportunity to be part of a facebook hop showing off our Stampin' Up! creations. The theme for this hop is "A Female Themed Card and Coordinating Tag." Considering Mother's Day is Sunday, and the hop begins on Saturday, this worked out very well for creating the card and tag (bookmark) to give to my mom.

It's a Birthday Goose

I just finished making this card for one of my male family members. I was amazed at how easy it fell into place. I originally thought I was going to do another card using the plane from "Sky is the Limit," but this set caught my eye and I went for it. It's kind of hard to tell by this picture, but I did use the "Watercolor Wash" in the background.

Supplies:
Stamps - Timeless Textures (140517), Watercolor Wash (139538), Wetlands (126697)
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Soft Suede

Dragonfly

I started making this card for a church member who is in the hospital. I knew what I wanted it to look like, but I just wasn't getting the effect I was hoping for. I used daubers all over the brick wall, and stamped the images. Unfortunately, everything was just too bright. I managed to solve my dilemma by brayering (hmm. . . spellcheck doesn't like this word) Craft White over the project. I'm happy to say, I am very happy with this solution.
Supplies:
Stamps - Awesomely Artistic (139950)
Ink - Basic Gray, Craft White, Delightful Dijon, Lost Lagoon, Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder
Card Stock - Lost Lagoon, Very Vanilla
Accessories - Brick Wall embossing folder (138288), Crystal Effects (101055)

My First Facebook Hop!

You might be asking, "what's a facebook hop?" It begins with a group of people who have facebook pages, with a common interest. Each person posts an item based on a common theme. The pages are then linked together with the page address for the next facebook page near the bottom of the post. Basically, you're "hopping" from one facebook page to the next.

Below are pictures of what I have posted on my facebook page. If you would like to see more creations, you can start at my facebook page and "hop" through all eleven designs.

The common thread this month is Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration.

This is a view of the front of the card.
 Here it is, partially open.

And, finally, completely open.

Mountain Lake

The Goal: Last year I was really bad about sending birthday cards. I didn't even have the excuse of not having any cards (except for the males in the family). This year, my goal is to send cards to all of my family members. So far, I have been doing pretty well. I even managed to make, and give, cards to a couple of my co-workers.

The Planning Process: My first step was to get a personal planner (the paper kind). Then I filled it with everyone's birthdays. I've decided to begin making cards on the last weekend, for the following month. The last step was to include a reminder to mail cards a week before the special day.

Execution: Make the right card for each birthday! This month I got to use one of my new stamp sets for the mountains in the background.

Supplies:
Stamps - In the Meadow (140754) Wonderland (140365)
Ink - Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Mossy Meadow, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky

Bermuda Butterflies

After cleaning and reorganizing my craft room, I decided to reintroduce myself to my stamps. I realize there are several I haven't used in a while. Today I played with Butterfly Basics. A Simple Thank you

It's not yet spring, but I decided it was time to do a little cleaning in my craft room. It's been way too long. There's still a bit more to do, but I got far enough along that I rewarded myself by making a card.

After a day of cleaning, I decided on just a simple card. I think this one fit the bill!

Lake View #3

How about skiing? It takes a bit more skill than the snowshoes (especially on these old things), but you can head down the hill more quickly. For this card, you can only see the lake, or possibly the sky. I imagine the skis are just waiting for the first snowfall.
Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Wishes (139745), Wonderland (140365)
Ink - Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Mossy Meadow, Soft Sky
Card Stock - Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla

Lake View #2

Below is my second installment in my Lake View series. For the previous card, I stamped the trees in the foreground and cut around them with an X-acto knife, then slipped the window frame behind them. For this card, I stamped the pieces in the foreground on a separate piece of card stock, cut them out, then placed them on top. To create the snow on the mountain peaks, I used Dazzling Details.

Supplies:
Stamps: Winter Wishes (139745), Wonderland (140365)
Ink - Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Mossy Meadow, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky,
Card Stock - Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla

Thinking of Wildflowers

Have you ever purchased a set of stamps, only to discover you're not sure how to create with them? I admit, I struggled with this set when I first started playing with them. Should I use them together like I do with Wild About Flowers (138728)? Should I stamp using black ink or colored ink? Should I try to fill a large amount of space, or keep it small?

After attempting different styles, I found a style I like and works for me. This is part of the fun of stamping; discovering My style.

Stamps - Flowering Fields (141303), Wetlands (126697)

On top of that, the leaf boarder is fantastic!!!
