Thinking of Eleanor

The sketch I used for this card can be found at Operation Write Home. I may be doing this again, because I had several ideas for this layout.

Stamps - Everything Eleanor
Card Stock - Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
Ink - Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy
Ribbon - Chantilly Crochet Trim

With Sympathy

I don't know why I haven't used this stamp set for sympathy cards before. The three stamps in the set work really well together to easily make a card when you need one. Although I used retired supplies, they can easily be replaced with more current products.

Supplies:
Stamps - Love & Sympathy
Card Stock - Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla
DSP - Mocha Morning
Ink - Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy

Thank U, Grunge Style

Last weekend, I had several friends and family help me make 100 cards for Operation Write Home! Most of my friends were from the church I attend. The purpose of bringing everyone together to make the cards was three-fold:

First, I wanted to send LOTS of cards to Operation Write Home. Now, I could have done this by myself, and I have, but this brings me to my second purpose. . .

Second, I wanted to share my passion for making cards and my desire to make cards for Operation Write Home, with my friends.

Third, I'm not very comfortable throwing parties, so this was a fantastic excuse to bring family and friends together, make some cards, and just enjoy each other's company. I was fortunate that I was able to hold the event at my church.

Because I did have so many family and friends helping me, I wanted to let them know how much I appreciate them. This is one of the cards I will be sending to family and friends, letting them know how thankful I am that they allowed me to share my passions with them.

Supplies:
Stamps - A Round Array, Clockworks, Gorgeous Grunge, Label Love
Card Stock - Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Ink - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade

For Dad

I'm putting together 100 card kits for a workshop this weekend. I've got lots of people joining me to put them together, but I wanted to have ten different layouts for the cards. By the time I got to my last kit, I was out of layout ideas. Because all of the cards will be sent to Operation Write Home, I decided to use one of their sketches. I also decided this last card should be a Father's Day card.

Supplies:
Stamp - Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock - Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla
DPS - Sweater Weather
Ink - Chocolate Chip

Just a Tree?

Holiday Focus: Choose one of the following, show a card, an ensemble, an SB page, or a decor item!

  • Earth Day: Earth Day is a name used for two different observances, both held annually during spring in the northern hemisphere, and autumn in the southern hemisphere. These are intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the Earth's environment.
  • Historic Garden Week http://www.vagardenweek.org/
  • Easter
  • National Egg Salad Week
  • Go Fly a Kite Day is the third Sunday In April.
Obviously, I chose Earth Day! However, had I "read all of the instructions" prior to starting, I might have chosen a different theme. Although, this challenge did provide the perfect opportunity to use the Look Up To Father stamp.

Supplies:
Stamps - Look Up To Father
Card Stock - Gumball Green, Whisper White
DSP - Watercolor Wonder
Ink - Early Espresso, Gumball Green
Accessories -  Early Espresso Quilted Satin Ribbon, Ribbon Slide

Watercolor Greeting

Another fun card created for SplitCoastStampers' monthly challenge, "Catalog Focus: Watercoloring! Whether it be with an ink pad and aqua painter, markers, watercolor pencils, making a background, or dying something. What can you do with water & color?"

For this card, after stamping the swirls, I masked off the lower portion of the paper and created the watercolor effect by sponging ink onto acetate, spraying with water and then pressing onto the watercolor paper.

Supplies:
Stamps -  Everything Eleanor, Really Good Greetings
Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper
Ink - Crushed Curry, Gumball Green, Island Indigo, Stazon Black
Accessories - Island Indigo Ribbon, Rhinestones
