Fluttering Banners

Supplies:
Stamps - Banner Blast, Hearts a Flutter
Card Stock - Basic Black, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Melon Mambo
Accessories - Banner punch, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Island Indigo Satin ribbon

The lower left photo shows what the card will look like when folded flat for mailing.
Supplies:
Stamps - Field Flowers (MDS), Papillon Potpourri
Card Stock - Early Espresso Core'dinations, Pear Pizzazz, Pistachio Pudding
DSP - Gingham Garden
Ink - Basic Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango
Accessories - Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches, Secret Garden Framelit, Crystal Effects

Wonderful Vases

My Stampin' Up! order arrived yesterday afternoon, so I was compelled to create something with one of my new stamps. The vases were cut from Afternoon Picnic DSP, then adhered to the stamped image on Very Vanilla. Because the vases have clean lines, they didn't take any time to cut.
Supplies:
Stamps - Vivid Vases
Card Stock - Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla
DSP - Afternoon Picnic
Ink - Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Silver Encore
Embossing Powder - Clear

Simple Field Flowers

I originally started this card a month ago, but it wasn't turning out the way I wanted. There it sat, unadorned. After playing with different color combinations in MDS, and cutting them with my Silhouette, I knew the flowers would be a perfect way to compliment the wood grain finish.

Remember, if a card just isn't "right," set it aside. Eventually, a stamp or trim will come along that is the perfect piece to complete your creation.
Supplies:
Stamps - Field Flowers (MDS)
Paper - Early Espresso Core'dinations, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink - Basic Black, Garden Green, Summer Starfruit
Accessories - Natural Trim ribbon, Circle Designer brad, Woodgrain embossing folder

Sweet Sorbet Birthday

This is a fun sketch layout to play with. Depending on the colors, paper and stamps I choose, determines the "feel" of the card. With the DSP I chose for this card, it has a soft look to it. I picture this card going to someone's Mother or Grandmother. The flower in the circle is punched from the DSP.
Supplies:
Stamps - On Your Birthday
Card Stock - Basic Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
DSP - Sweet Sorbet
Ink - Basic Black with Clear embossing powder

DSP - Sycamore Street (ret.)
Ink - Rich Razzleberry

First Box Card

This is my first attempt making a "Box Card." Making the actual box, is the easy part. (There are lots of tutorials for various sizes.) For me, the challenge was dressing it up. Since this is my first one, I used some retired DSP. I do plan to make more of these, because they are fun to make. However, because there are so many elements, they do take a bit longer than your basic card. (Duh!)
For more ideas on making your own box card, you can run a search on SplitCoastStampers or Pinterest.

Mosaic Medley

This is a "No Brainer" card for the SplitCoastStampers Creative Crew Stampin' Up! Demonstrators' February Challenge. Just looking at it, it does look like a simple, "no brainer" design, and I'm really happy with the results. So why did I struggle putting it together?

If I were to re-create this card, it would be a no brainer, because I can now see all the elements. The struggle comes from pulling the elements together, not the actual layout. When I struggle with elements, I don't actually glue anything down immediately. For this card, the final pieces that pulled the design together were the "framing" of the elements (the Very Vanilla under the Basic Black, the Basic Black under the Cherry Cobber, and the Cherry Cobbler ribbon under the Crumb Cake ribbon). Yep, those were the elements I needed to pull it all together.
Supplies:
Stamps - Mosaic Madness
Card Stock - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
DSP - Modern Medley
Ink - Cherry Cobbler
Accessories - Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake ribbon; Mosaic punch; Adorning Accents embossing folder; Rhinestones

God Is Love

I had so much fun making these. Did you know that February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day? So, I made these little treat holders for my church pastor to give to the children of our church (two days after Valentines Day and one day before RAK Day!). Thanks to this month's Demo Challenge at SplitCoastStampers, I am aware of Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Now that you know that RAK Day is the 17th, what ideas are popping into your mind?

DSP - Fresh Prints (SAB)
